Serving Our Neighbors

Over the past couple of years, Bethany Church has done something called "Servant Saturday" about 3 times a year. We've done projects like park clean-ups, painting at a men's rehab center, work at Mexican orphanage, a garage sale where clothes sold for a quarter and TV cabinets went for 5 dollars, and a trailer park rehab. It's been a wonderful way to get out into the community and be the church in action.

In a little over a month, we're planning another Servant Saturday. This time, we're going into the neighborhoods that we live in. We'll do some projects for people who need a little extra help: gardening, painting, clearing up, etc. And we'll host some block parties: jumpers, bbqs, etc.

So many of our members are reaching out to their neighbors on a regular basis. It is my hope and prayer that this Servant Saturday will be a way to continue ministry that is already happening.
